- He added that Duterte had apparently consulted his doctor before doing the activity
President Rodrigo Duterte rode a motorcycle anew; days after he fig
ured in an acc id en t inside the Malacañang compound last October 16, 2019.
Duterte’s former Special Assistant and now Senator Christopher “Bong” Go shared that he and the President rode a three-wheeled motorcycle.
“Ready na kami ni Tatay Digong!!! Sama kayo? Ready Set Go!!! – Kuya Bong Go,” the lawmaker posted on Facebook. [Tatay Digong and I are ready! Want to come along?]
GMA News quoted Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo saying, “After the dinner last night, when he went to Bahay Pagbabago he decided to ride the motorcycle for a few minutes. Parang exercise.”
Panelo added that the vehicle used has three wheels which means it wouldn’t cr
ash. He added that Duterte had apparently consulted his doctor before doing the activity.
Duterte, now 74, had to cut short his Japan visit earlier this week due to the
pain caused by what happened last October 16, as per advice of his doctor.
The public, meanwhile, is concerned over the health of the President but lack of regular medical bulletins on this has sparked speculations about the status of his health.
According to Inquirer, transparency on the health of the President is enshrined in Section 12, Article VII of the 1987 Constitution.
The Constitution says, “In case of serious illn
ess of the President, the public shall be informed of the state of his health. The members of the Cabinet in charge of national security and foreign relations and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, shall not be denied access to the President during such ill ness.”
