MANILA, Philippines – A female employee of Solaire was shot and killed by motorcycle-riding men in Makati City early morning on Tuesday, August 9.

The victim was identified as Rhem Pedrano who is believed to be on her way to work, and was only a few blocks away from their house when she was shot dead by riding-in-tandem around 5 am in West Rembo.

A netizen shared a photo of the hapless victim slumped on the pavement with her hair still wet.

“Pinatay sa tapat ng bahay namin, ng mga nakamotor, holdup ang ngyari. mga bandang 5am. siguro papasok na siya sa work basa pa buhok niya eh, mag iingat po tayo lahat. Lalo na mga babae! Sana may hustisya!”

[She was killed right in front of our house by men in motorcycle. It was a holdup around 5 am. Maybe she was on her way to work because her hair is still wet. Be cautious, everyone. Especially women. Hope justice will be served.]

According to the victim’s friend, Reinan Pao Iglesia, Pedrano fought back and was shot in the head. Her remains is now under autopsy and bullet is still lodged in the victim’s head.

“Why am I posting this?” Iglesia wrote in his Facebook. “To remind everyone to be extra careful… dahil wala na yatang safe na lugar ngayon sa bansa [because it seems there is no more safe place in this country].

“This is to remind everyone also that life is fleeting so we have to take good care of our loved ones and show them how much we appreciate and love them,” he added.

The victim’s Facebook profile said she worked at Solaire Resort and Casino as VIP Marketing Host.
