MANILA, Philippines – A nurse was found brutally murdered inside her room in a boarding house in Quezon City early Saturday morning.
Discovered dead was September Paz, a cardiovascular nurse who worked at St. Luke’s Medical Center. Her body was riddled with at least 19 stab wounds based on the initial investigation.
According to Armando Lazo, the barangay captain of Kristong Hari, he received a call at around 6:15 AM, Saturday morning informing him that someone had been killed inside the premises.
He said he was shocked at finding Paz’s blood all over the walls which indicated she must’ve resisted before being violently killed.
“Para kang nagwisik ng watercolor [It was like you were splashing watercolor],” he said; describing the bloodbath inside the victim’s room.
Authorities told ABS-CBN that Paz was alone inside the boarding house when the crime took place. They noted that this was not a robbery since the suspects — who entered through an open window — did not take anything from the victim.
Paz’s housemates described her as a happy individual and said she was too friendly to have any enemies.
“She was a happy-go-lucky person and I know she didn’t have any enemies,” one said.
Another, a fellow nurse, said she left Paz alone inside the boarding house on Friday night for her night shift.
While the suspects have remained at large, police are studying the footage showing a group of men entering and later leaving the area near the boarding house.
