- Three Taiwanese were arrested in the anti-illegal drug raids
- The raids are the first operations under PDEA’s Oplan First Blood that targets clandestine drug laboratories nationwide
Bucketloads of freshly manufactured shabu [methamphetamine hydrochloride] have been recovered by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at a house in Philamlife Village in Pamplona Dos, Las Piñas City on Tuesday, July 5.
PDEA National Capital Region Director Wilkins Villanueva said the raiding team found the newly produced shabu ready for packaging. Also found inside the house-turned-clandestine laboratory were weighing scales, machines used to manufacture the illegal substance and several sacks of raw materials.
Arrested inside the illegal drug lab, which is located beside a mall and just in front of the village’s guardhouse, were two Taiwanese nationals identified only as “Alex” and “Art.”
Villanueva noted that the house has a drying room and a room for finished products.
Meanwhile, another team of PDEA agents conducted a simultaneous raid on Unit 1D Executive Villages Society in BF Homes Phase 5, Parañaque City. Another Taiwanese was nabbed in the raid. Boxes of shabu were also seized inside the house.
PDEA Chief Isidro Lapeña said prior to the raids, both houses were placed under surveillance for one month.
According to ABS-CBN, the simultaneous raids were the first operations under PDEA’s Operation Plan First Blood which targets clandestine shabu laboratories nationwide.
The anti-drug agency is conducting an inventory on the confiscated illegal substance.
