Hunan Agricultural University in Changsha, Hunan province in China have set proper attire rules outside the library. But netizens online criticized the university for limiting the students from wearing whatever they like.
Those who wear skirt, shorts, or halter dress under 50 centimeters long are not allowed to enter the library’s premises, as per a story by Asia One.
The university decided to ban the said clothes after a student went to the provisional education authorities last Tuesday, May 15 to complain, saying that female students who wear quite revealing clothes distract other students who try to study in the library.
Reactions online arose as some said that students should be allowed to wear whatever they prefer.
The university had to take down their notice on Friday, May 18, after receiving criticisms. The next day, they posted a notice saying that the ban has been lifted. It includes an apology for causing any confusion and inconvenience.
But still, the university sticks to ‘no flip flops’ and ‘vests’ policy while inside the library.
