- They said that it has greatly helped their queuing system and campaign against fixers
- The system is still on its pilot run in Pasig, Muntinlupa, Novaliches and Marikina
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has seen improvement in their queuing system since they launched their online appointment system.
LTO – Marikina chief Maria Claridette Edrosa said the online appointment system greatly helped their applicants. She shared with GMA, “Pag-appointment sila lahat, alam nila ang mga oras nila. Alam nila kung anong oras sila puwedeng matapos.” [When they all have appointments, they know their scheduled time and what time they are expected to be finished.]
Rector Antiga, chief of the LTO’s IT Division, also expressed that the system has helped in their campaign against ‘fixers.’ He said, “On that particular time, at saka date, ikaw ‘yung nandodoon na kinonfirm ng system na dapat ikaw ‘yung ise-serve. So walang chance na ikaw mismo ay lapitan ng fixers.” [Since there is a schedule time and date, there’s no chance that you will be approached by fixers.]
They urged the public to make use of the online appointment system and book one out of the 40 available slots daily. The system is currently on its pilot run in LTO pilot offices in Pasig, Muntinlupa, Novaliches and Marikina. Appointments slots are available until December but is only for license renewals. First-time or new applications cannot be accommodated online.
