Just recently, a deal was sealed between the Philippine government and the Czech Republic. The deal would allow 1,000 Filipino workers to get job opportunities in various companies in Prague, Czech Republic.
Envoys of the Philippine Embassy attended a forum in Prague to discuss with business representatives from the different industries in the European country. More than 20 companies which are involved in automotive, electronics, manufacturing and other business entities are in need of foreign workers, as per a story by ABS-CBN News.
Philippine representatives also introduced the idea of “ethical recruitment”, wherein they are encouraging each party to do the right thing and follow moral procedures in order to avoid future employer-employee problems. For instance, the embassy would monitor and avoid illegal recruitment, according to Philippine Embassy Charge d’Affaires Jed Dayang.
The job offerings of the Czech Republic started in February owing to its booming economy but lessening workers due to the increase in the number of elderly people in their country.
According to Cesar Averia, president of the recruitment agency Edi-Staffbuilders International (EDI), it is not impossible that Czech would do massive hiring of OFWs in the near future.
Averia said, “We want to help President Duterte’s initiative to get the best employment for the Filipinos.”
Also, this coming July, an e-commerce company in Czech called Alza.cz is scheduled to visit the Philippines to hire 50 drivers, packers, and supervisors.
The company offers a compensation package which includes free fare and accommodation.
Jan Linhart, the company’s project manager, reportedly said they would like to find employees in East Asia because they heard good feedback about our workers. They are expecting to find stable, hard-working and loyal workers.
