- Miss Ecuador 2018 winner Virginia Silva was accused of ‘copying’ Catriona Gray’s winning look
- Gray brushed off the issue; saying she has no problem with it
- She said that she’s happy for Silva and that we should support women representing their countries
Catriona Gray proved that she’s indeed a queen as she calmly answered on the issue about Miss Ecuador’s pageant look.
Recently, the pageant world has been abuzz about Miss Ecuador 2018 winner Virginia Silva’s winning look. Donning an ornate earcuff with her hair kept on one side and wearing an intricately embroidered gold gown, Miss Ecuador has been accused of ‘copying’ Gray’s Binibining Pilipinas look.
But like a real queen, Gray brushed off the issue with class.
She was quoted by ABS-CBN saying, “The earcuff isn’t mine. Gold-colored gown isn’t mine. I don’t see a problem with it. I’m happy for her, she won. I know behind her is her own journey, so let’s not look something like that, like a similarity in a gown. Let’s just celebrate the women coming up from their countries and hoping to do good.”
