MANILA, Philippines  –  A former priest was gunned down by unidentified motorcycle-riding assassins in the province of Masbate on Tuesday morning, March 27.

The victim has been identified as Aldrin Aganan, a former Catholic parish priest and a resident of Barangay Tugbo in Mobo town.

He was shot dead by riding-in-tandem around 7:50 am. Witnesses said one of the gunmen pulled his weapon and shot Aganan at close range.

Security guards at nearby warehouse reportedly fired some shots but the assailants quickly fled after the attack, according to the Masbate police.

The police have launched a pursuit operation to hunt the suspects.

Meanwhile, authorities said they have yet to establish the motive behind the killing while investigation continues.
