- Taylor Swift and Tom HIddleston splits after dating for less than 3 months
- Swift was said to be “uncomfortable” with the actor’s desire to be public with their romance
- The pop star began questioning his motives and ultimately “put the brakes on the relationship”
It went as quick as it came. The whirlwind romance of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston that began in June had reportedly came to an end.
The pop star was said to be the one to “put the brakes on the relationship” after feeling “uncomfortable” with the actor’s desire to be very public with their romance.
“Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with,” an insider told US Magazine. “Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up.”
Now that they’ve split, the source said, Hiddleston is “embarrassed that the relationship fizzled out.”
The British actor was keen for them to become a Hollywood power couple but the Bad Blood singer disagreed, which caused a rift between the two.
Despite his excessive public display of affection for the pop star, Hiddleston is said to be frustrated with Swift’s reluctance to appear on a red carpet event with him, and it bothered him so much that they’ve become known as a “fauxmance laughingstock.”
“Tom wants their relationship to be public, even asking Taylor to go to the Emmys with him, but Taylor wants to keep her private life private. Tom’s need for their relationship to be so public so quickly makes her uncomfortable,” the insider shared with Radar, describing how Swift became worried that the actor might be using the relationship to boost his own profile.
“She tried to be OK with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons. Taylor is an independent young woman and doesn’t feel like she needs a boyfriend to make her feel complete,” the source added.
