  • He said she probed him just to make herself popular
  • He also insisted she was involved in the narcotics trade

MANILA, Philippines – Letting loose a new round of vitriolic against his embattled critic, President Rodrigo Duterte twitted Sen. Leila de Lima for supposedly investigating him on his alleged violations of human rights years ago when she was still CHR and justice chief just to get media mileage.

“De Lima, she was seven years chairman of human rights. Binibira niya ako. Hindi naman nag-file ng kaso [She was picking on me. But she didn’t even file a case]. When she was secretary of justice, she was building a name at my [para ma-popular. Now what? She was not only screwing her driver, she was screwing the nation. O ngayon, saan na ang human rights? Kaninong papel ang ginamit ninyo? [Where are the human rights cases? Whose papers are you using?} Where were the papers?” the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted him as saying.

Insisting that De Lima was involved in the drug trade, Duterte said he would have shot her for her shamelessness even if she were his mother.

“So all the while because of her propensity for sex, ngayon lang ako nakakita ng babaeng lumabas sa social media, nakangiti pa ang buang parang walang nahitabo(Expletive) kung nanay ko iyon, barilin ko,” he said.

[So all the while because of her propensity for sex, it’s just now that I see a woman like her going out on social media, that crazy person is smiling like nothing happened. (Expletive) if that was my mother, I’d shoot her.]

De Lima has denied being involved in the illegal drug trade while remaining mum about her relationship with former driver Ronnie Palisoc Dayan.
