- There were claims that Brad Pitt cheated on his wife Angelina Jolie with Allied co-star Marion Cotillard
- The Allied co-stars’ onscreen chemistry was described “electric” which reportedly made Jolie jealous and filed for divorce
- Close sources to the involved party dispelled the cheating rumor
Rumor has it that French actress Marion Cotillard is the scarlet woman in Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce.
Cotillard stars alongside Pitt in the upcoming spy thriller Allied and their onscreen chemistry has been described as ‘electric’ — reminiscent of the former Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-stars, who fell in love on the set of the 2005 spy film while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston and would eventually become Brangelina — which led Jolie to feel threatened of her husband getting too close for comfort with his female co-star.
“She hired a private eye because she felt that he was fooling around with her on the set, and it turns out, he was. And that was the final straw,’’ a source told Page Six.
“The atmosphere off-set was full of hard drugs and Russian hookers, and Angie was told Brad got caught up in it,’’ the source said, sharing that the PI discovered that Pitt was also “partying like a single guy on a mission”. “He’s in the throes of some insane midlife crisis, and Angie is fed up.”
A close source dispelled the cheating rumors and told TMZ: “There was no alleged third person … her decision to file was solely over Brad’s interaction with their children.”
Meanwhile, the French actress is said to be ‘absolutely devastated’ at being dragged into the couple’s divorce. A source told Daily Mail that Cotillard and her husband, Guillaume Canet, are happily married and are expecting their second baby.
“Marion and Guillaume are blissfully happy, and these kind of claims are not what Marion wants to be hearing,” the source said. ‘Claims that she’s cheating on Guillaume with Brad will leave her absolutely devastated. This doesn’t sound like her at all.”
