- Marvel invites aspiring artists and superhero fans to attend Marvel’s Creative Day Out
- This full-day event will feature discussions and exhibitions about comic book art and storytelling, and allows fans to bond over their love for Marvel superheroes

Artists and comic book enthusiasts alike are invited for “Marvel Creative Day Out”, a special comic book art-centric event put together by American comic book publisher Marvel Comics for its Filipino fanbase, to be held at the UP Theater at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman campus on September 22.
In partnership with UP Diliman, the UP College of Fine Arts, UP Diliman Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts, UP Theater, and National Commission of Culture and the Arts, the event aims to inspire creativity and inspire a younger generation of artists, as quoted from the UP Diliman website.
Marvel’s Creative Day Out will be a full-day community event comprised of talks from Filipino Marvel artists, comic book art exhibitions, storytelling, and generally bringing fans together to bond over their shared interests.
Some of the Filipino artists who will trade in their pencils for microphones to give inspirational talks are Harvey Tolibao, penciller for Iron Man and X-Men, Mico Suayan, penciller for Moon Knight, Leinil Francis Yu, penciller for Secret Invasion and Avengers, and Stephen Jorge Segovia, illustrator for Wolverine and Thor, as per an article published by GMA News.
Marvel Asia’s Vice President of Brand Development C.B. Cebulski will also grace the event and talk about how Marvel scouts for potential comic book artists.
Budding artists will be given a chance to share their original and unpublished Marvel-theme artworks to fellow enthusiast and consult featured Marvel artists for some tips as well.
Guests can also look forward to live art demonstrations, Marvel artists creative booths, and a collaboration wall open for everybody to express their art.
Interested participants may submit their Marvel-themed artworks such as drawings, paintings, prints, photography, digital art, sculpture, and mixed media together with the entry form, to EON Office, 8/F OPL Building, 100 C. Palanca St. Legaspi Village, Makati City.
The deadline of art submissions is on September 19, 2016.
Entrance to the event is free and open to the public.
