- Your Local, a Makati bistro, made it to Conde Nast Traveler magazine’s list of the World’s Best Restaurants
- The restaurant was hailed for their pomelo salad and Thai coconut ice cream
- A Filipino restaurant in New York is also on the list
You might want to pencil in a reservation way ahead of time when planning to dine at one of Makati’s best kept secrets as it is about to draw in more crowds after making it to the list of the World’s Best Restaurants.
Your Local is the sole Philippine-based restaurant that made the cut to Conde Nast Traveler magazine’s Best Restaurants in the World list, and is now a go-to restaurant when dining in Manila.
Already a favorite among the hip crowd of Manila for its artistic, hipster vibe and well-curated menu — Your Local is a neighborhood bistro located at Legazpi Village in Makati run by chef Nicco Santos and Denny Antonino.
The restaurant serves a unique take of Southeast Asian favorites and a modernized all-day breakfast menu.
The Makati restaurant bagged the title with their pomelo salad and Thai coconut ice cream.
“I still dream of the pomelo salad with shrimp, winged beans, wild rocket, yuzu, nam jim, pickled quail eggs and Thai coconut ice cream,” said magazine editor Ashlea Halpern.
A Filipino restaurant in New York’s East Village, Maharlika Filipino Moderno, also made it to the list, as per an article published by Coconuts Manila.
One of the critics wrote: “Maharlika executes some of the best Filipino cuisine outside Manila. Go for brunch and try the Filipino-style fried chicken with purple yam waffles or one of the Silog options with longganisa pork sausage and amazing garlic rice.”
