Seguerra has been appointed as the chairperson of the National Youth Commission for a three-year term and Diño has been appointed as the chairperson of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) for a period of three years as well.

Both Seguerra and Diño actively campaigned for President Duterte last election period.

Last June, the then-incoming president asked the help of the couple for the promotion of arts and culture in the Philippines.

According to an article published by ABS-CBN News. Seguerra said that she would meet up with her artist friends, so that once they meet up with the president again, they would have a plan on what to do.

As for Diño, she said she’s happy because the president recognizes the importance of arts and culture in our country.

“Nakakatuwa kasi siya mismo yung nagsalita talaga, nagsabi sa amin na parang (It’s really wonderful because he’s the one who talked about it and told us), ‘Let’s work on arts and culture. Mga Pilipino tayo (We are Filipinos). You know how much I love this country,'” she said.

Aside from Seguerra and Diño, other Duterte supporters from the entertainment industry who were given government positions are Arnell Ignacio (AVP of the Community Relation and Services Department, PAGCOR), and Kat de Castro (Tourism Undersecretary).

Jimmy Bondoc was previously reported to be appointed as the AVP for Entertainment of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). However, he disclosed that his appointment was not finalized. He is waiting if the president will give him a post in PTV4.
