Monggo, lumpia, pandesal with kesong puti’—these will be some of the food to be served to around 600 guests during the inauguration of  President-elect Rodrigo Duterte at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace on June 30.

Inaugural committee member Lisette Marques disclosed that they will keep to the incoming President’s wishes of a simple celebration and serve finger food which are also his personal favorites, an article written by Trisha Macas on GMA News Online stated.

A previous article published by Philippine Daily Inquirer mentioned that his partner of 20 years, Cielito “Honeylet” Avanceña, described Duterte as “a man of simple tastes who preferred a frugal meal of fried tamban fish and ginamay (menudo), and that he tended to lose his appetite when too many dishes were set before him.”

As such, his simple lifestyle will be reflected in his inauguration preferably the menu to be served which will be catered by Via Mare.
