MANILA, Philippines – With just a few days left before controversial actors Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos face each other inside the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) cage, the latter claimed that he is gaining the support of a lot of people.
ABS-CBN News quoted the indie film actor as saying in an interview with Showbiz INQLive on Wednesday night, June 22: “Marami na ring taong naiinis sa kanya, marami na kong supporters ngayon.”
[There are a lot of people who doesn’t like him, I have a lot of supporters now.]
Matos revealed that he has been training very hard in preparation for their fight.
“Araw araw, pinaghahandaan namin (We’ve been preparing every day). Three to four hours of training every day, no rest day. I’ve been training MMA, jiu-jitsu, kickboxing and some cardio work din (as well),” he said.
If he loses, Matos said that he will accept defeat, as long as Geisler changes his ways.
“Pag natalo ako, friends kami ni Baron. Ico-congratulate ko siya. Basta magbago si Baron at hindi magiging makulit,” he said.
[If I lose, Baron and I would be friends. I will congratulate him as long as he changes his ways and stops being annoying.]
The two actors will be among the fighters who will participate in the URCC Fight Night on Saturday, June 25 at Valkyrie, the Palace, Uptown Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City.
They will be fighting for two rounds of three minutes each which is shorter compared to pro fights of three rounds and five minutes each.
