Senator Fancis “Chiz” Escudero, Senator Grace Poe’s running mate, had conceded defeat in the vice presidential race. He thanked all those who supported their Galing at Puso team.
In an interview in his residence at Sorsogon in the Bicol Region, Escudero said: “Nais kong magpasalamat sa lahat ng tumulong, sumuporta, naniwala, at nagtiwala [I would like to say thank you to all those who helped, supported, believed and trusted in me].”
Escudero ranked fourth in the VP race as of 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10. As per the partial and unofficial count of the Commission on Elections Transparency Server, the Bicolano senator got 4,531,384 votes.
Camarines Sur Congresswoman Leni Robredo is currently leading the race with 13,150,629 votes. She overtook Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, who got 13,062,236 votes.
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, Mayor Rody Duterte’s running mate, got 5,388,255 votes.
Chiz Escudero said he is looking forward to quieter times with his wife, actress Heart Evangelista.
“Looking forward to quieter times at mas maraming panahon sa pamilya. At siguro ‘yung matagal na naudlot na honeymoon ay matutuloy na,” GMA News Online quoted him as saying.

He then called on the Filipino people to unite behind whoever will be proclaimed as new president.
“Pinili man natin o hindi. Binoto man natin o hindi. Sinumang tatayong pangulo, tatayong pangulo nating lahat, gusto man nya sa atin o ayaw nya sa ‘tin,” he said.
[We picked him or not… we voted for him or not… anyone who will be the president will be president of all whether he likes us or not]
