- Robredo said she’s forgiven bashers who’ve sent her vicious online messages
- She insists she’s done nothing to deserve the bashing
- She said she’s more focused on bigger responsibilities than the online storm
MANILA, Philippines – With the vice presidential race far from over, Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo said she has already forgiven the bashers who’ve sent her vicious messages online.
In an interview, Robredo— despite admitting she found the online hate shocking— insisted she did nothing to deserve such bashing.
Wala naman tayong kasalanan, wala tayong ginagawang masama,” the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted her as saying.
[The way I’m vilified in social media now is astounding but I don’t pay it any heed. That’s the good thing. I did nothing wrong, I am doing nothing wrong.]
Robredo added she’d rather focus on the huge responsibilities up ahead than remain fixated on the online fighting.
[Just let it be. Even they haven’t done anything yet, I have forgiven them. We have to face bigger responsibilities than fighting on social media.]
Her spokesperson Georgina Hernandez also reiterated her call for healing amid the growing rift between Robredo and Marcos’ supporters.
[For her, the most important thing is for us to unite, to stop the bashing on social media, so that our country can now begin the process of healing and have unity.]
